  • From Rye take A259 to Hastings

  • Hastings is served by mainline routes from and to London (Victoria and Charing Cross), Tunbridge Wells, Brighton, Lewes, Eastbourne and Ashford International for connections to Europe.  Fastest connection from/to London is 1 hour and 30 minutes (to Charing Cross).

traveling from London                                                                                                    
  • by train:
            Departures from London Victoria Station or from London Charing Cross.
            Usually trains from Charing Cross are quicker (total journey time approx. 90 min)
 
  • by car:

          1. Take the M25 until junction 5 and then to exit onto the A21

          2. The A21 will lead you straight down to Hastings

          3. Once in Hastings look for the seafront . Once you've reached it, turn left

          4. Keep driving while keeping the sea on your right-hand side

          5. In 2-3 minutes you will see a sign called 'Rock-A-Nore Parking'/'Blue Reef Aquarium'.

          6. Stop there - you have arrived!

          7. From here you'll see the house on the corner, in black & white, and displaying the
              famous Cavalier statuette high above the front door (if in doubt, please call us and we
              will be glad to come out of the house and direct you)

traveling from Heathrow Airport                                                                   

  • by train:

            1. Take the underground from the airport to London Charing Cross Station (total journey                 time is approximately 80 Minutes).

            2. From here follow 'from London' instructions (see above)

  • by car: (distance = 86 miles / approx. 1 hour 49 min. drive)

            - Head north-east

            - Slight left toward Stratford Rd

            - Turn left toward Stratford Rd

            - Turn right at Stratford Rd

            - At Terminal 4 Roundabout, take 4th exit onto the Southern Perimeter Rd ramp

            - Merge onto Southern Perimeter Rd. Go through 2 roundabouts

            - At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A3113/Airport Way

            - At roundabout, take 2nd exit onto M25 ramp to M3/M23/M20/ Dartford/Staines

            - Merge onto M25

            - Take the exit toward S'oaks/Hastings/A21

            - Merge onto M25

            - Continue on A21 (signs for Hastings/A21). Go through 4 roundabouts

            - At roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on A21. Go through 2 roundabouts

            - At roundabout, take 1st exit onto A2101 / St Helen's Rd. Go through 1 roundabout

            - Turn left at A2101/Albert Rd

            - Turn left at A259/Denmark Place. Go through 1 roundabout

            - Turn left at A259/The Bourne

            - Turn right at Rock-A-Nore Road 

            - The Cavalier House is located at the corner of All Saints Street

traveling from Gatwick Airport                                                                     

  • by train:
                There are regular trains from the airport directly to Hastings Railway Station (journey                  time is approximately 90 minutes).
  • by car: (distance: 59.0 miles = approx. 1 hour 28 min. drive)

            - Head south on A23/London Rd toward Beehive Ring Rd. Go through 3 roundabouts

            - At London Rd, take the 3rd exit onto A23/Crawley Ave. Go through 3 roundabouts

            - At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A23 ramp to Brighton and merge onto A23

            - Slight left toward A27. Go through 1 roundabout

            - Take the ramp onto A27. Go through 4 roundabouts

            - Turn left toward A27/Polegate Bypass

            - At roundabout, take 2nd exit onto A27/Polegate Bypass. Go through 1 roundabout

            - At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A259. Go through 3 roundabouts

            - Turn right at Rock-A-Nore Road 

            - The Cavalier House is located at the corner of All Saints Ftreet.

traveling from Hastings Railway Station (distance: 0.7 mile)

          Option 1: Take a cab (£3-£4) and you will be there in approx.5 minutes

          Option 2: Walk (approximately 20 minutes at a normal pace):

               - Head for the seafront and once there walk to the left (East)

               - Continue always with the sea to your right

               - Pass the roundabout (next to the 'Italian Way Restaurant')

               - Continue straight on, past swan lake and amusements arcades

               - You will arrive soon at the black net huts at the beginning of Rock-A-Nore Road

               - Opposite to your left, The Cavalier House is located at the corner of All Saints Street
